The Colorado Rockies had a red C, but it was inside of a mountain. Other than that, I'm not sure.

Are you sure its an NHL team?

I did a bit of research and no NHL teams had that kind of logo.

The closest to that are the:

Canucks [Blue C Hockey stick in middle]
Flames [Red C for Calgary but no stick on top]
Habs [ Red C and H in the middle. No Hockey stick on top]

the caps never had a red c logo. go to nhluniforms.com, to check, because I can't find the logo you're looking for

I have resaerched. Are you sure it is a NHL team?
It is not the:
Capitals
Canucks
Canadiens
You could be looking a the Quebec Nordiques logo sideways.
