   Sweden won the 1981 World Junior Championships (this was the last year that Canada was represented by the Cornwall Royals of the QMJHL (defending Memorial Cup champions) a team that had Doug Gilmour and Dale Hawerchuk)

   Peter Andersson
   Mikael Thelven
   Roger Hagglund
   Hakan Nordin
   Daniel Niklasson
   Ove Pettersson
   Robert Nordmark

   Forwards
   Jan Erixon (his son is on the 2008 Swedish team)
   Anders Bjorklund
   Jan Ingman
   Peter Madach
   Peter Nilsson
   Martin Pettersson
   Patrick Sundstrom (co-holds NHL record for most points in a playoff game)
   Peter Sundstrom
   Jens Ohling
   Anders Jonsson
   Mikael Granstedt

   Patrick Sundstrom led the team with 7 goals
   Hakan Nordin led the team with 7 assists and 9 points

   The tournament scoring title was shared with Dieter Hegen of Germany, Dale Hawerchuk of Canada, and Bobby Carpenter of the USA…all had 9 points along with Nordin.

   Only a handful of these players ever played for the Swedish National Team and/or the NHL
