How do you suggest I get ready to play ice hockey next year?

I roller blade for 1 hour every week day, and 2 hours or longer every weekend day. I also practice shooting a puck into a box. There was never a girls ice hockey team where I live but, I recently figured out there would be one next year… So, is there anything else I can do to ready myself for my first ice hockey season next year???

Thanks!

Do you have a electrical bike or something like that? All of the hockey players use those, may I also suggest weights, treadmill stuff like that.

Try to get on the ice as much as possible, open hockey/skates, if you on ice practice your shot and do figure eights to get your turns down.

Off ice – run, practice puckhandling around objects forehand and backhand, try to retain the puck the whole time wihtout losing control, its hard to practice off ice, but mainly work on ur wrist and slap shots, and work on controlling the puck – while moving around , try going back and forth with it too.try shooting for certain small areas (where the goalie wouldnt be) instead of just shotting into a box. Im sure theres more but thats just some small things that will help

look for pick-up / drop-in games, practises where they might need an extra skater .. make sure you’re learning proper technique. exercises like lunges, sit-ups and the like will help too.
