There are definitely stories like that from both countries. I don’t think that anyone in the world can deny that the US has the beast health care in the world…IF you have health care.
I know lots of people who don’t. Who have lost their cars, homes, moved in with parents at 40 because they were turned down by insurance companies in the States. That’s the problem. But we can’t get into a huge health care debate here. Because it’ll go on and on. I love the US. I’m there all the time!

castor, I can definately tell you about health care here in the US – LOL – I was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago & had to go to the hospital TODAY for a biopsy on the other side – bummer – but everything is ok. Anyway, I have paid the minimum all the way through & have had great care – you can bet that I don’t want Obamacare! And yes, my friend’s brother (who is Candadian) needed surgery after a car accident & they kept shuffling him around (6 mths) & he died before he got it! Yikes!

I can appreciate that you have relatives who are/were Canadians…but, and I’m not grandstanding here, our health care system is great. I have never, ever, paid a dime after a hospital stay, a doctor visit etc… it’s all covered. The issue some people have is that we pay higher taxes and if you need a surgery that isn’t for a life threatening condition…it’s true, ya gotta wait.
