The NCAA Hockey national tournament consists of 16 teams, seeded 1-4 in four different regions (think of the NCAA basketball tournament, starting with the sweet 16). Conference tournament champs get an automatic bid (Air Force and Niagra won their conference tourneys last week, so they're the first two definitely in). The conference tournaments will all conclude on Saturday.

The games are single elimination, just like basketball. The only real difference between the two sports' tourneys is that hockey's Final Four is called the Frozen Four. The selection show is on Sunday morning!
References :
It's the same as in all sports. All the teams play until one is left and they are the champs.
