Can you make a wall of players in the goal in hockey so there is no room to score? Is this legal?

So let’s say if your ahead in a game by one goal and you just pile players into the net to prevent any other goals… would the play be whistled dead? Would a penalty ensue? Is there a rule against this?

There’s no rule against it, and it’s unlikely to succeed……..
If the 5 defenders joined inside the crease with the goaltender to block the net, that would allow 4 of the offensive players to stand outside the crease and screen the goaltender…..while their hardest shooter blasts the puck at the net….when someone gets hit at 100mph – they go down…after 3-4 shots…voila!…..no defenders left standing in the crease

It’s been tried, it never works, but there’s no penalty for bad tactics

Next you’ll be asking why a team doesn’t just employ a 1000 lb. goalie. ;)

There would always be a hole, an opening, somewhere for the puck to squib through.

Nope, there is no rule against it but you could just give the players in the net the puck and then slam into them to create a hole.
Let me ask you this. If all of your players are in the net than who is out scoring??
