How come baseball, hockey, etc NCAA tournaments don’t get as much media attention as basketball?

Why is that basketball tournament is the most widely discussed NCAA tournament when there are baseball and hockey???

CBS and ESPN pay billions of dollars for Men’s College Basketball. ESPN pays a lot less for Baseball and Hockey.

What name could a co-ed hockey team go with?

Where Can I buy tickets to the World Junior Hockey Tournament in Calgary?

I didn’t get picked in the ticket lottery but is there anywhere else to buy tickets, I saw some on eBay but they are way too much money.

I found this on hockeycanada.ca:

Q: If I was not selected in the priority draw, is there another way to purchase tickets?
A: It is unlikely any ticket packages will remain after the fulfillment of the priority draw in January 2011.

So honestly i think if your really want to go, your best bet is to buy the expensive package off of eBay.

What do i wear to a street hockey tournament?

I know this seems like a weird question, but i am playing in a street hockey tournament this weekend and not so sure what i am supposed to wear…. Like, shorts? or sweat pants? or something else ?? hahah, thanks in advance guys.

You should be fine with gloves, stick and a good pair of shoes that aren’t slippery and have ankle stability. For clothing, like Tex suggested, something from UnderArmour Heatgear would be best (the skull cap too if you need it) but otherwise depends on the temperature, I’d recommend a t-shirt with shorts or jogging pants, something ample so you can move freely.

Looking for an Excel Template for a hockey tournament?

I am to Keep stats at a Floor Hockey Tournament. Anyways I was wondering if there was a template out there where I could organize players into teams, keep individual stats and team stats.

What do you say about this ? It is however a word file.

Which international ice hockey tournaments do you think USA team would most likely within 10 or 15 years?

My top three would be as follows:
1. IIHF Wold U18 Championships which the US has won several of those which are obviously minor league type.
2. World Juniors which we won two as of yet.
3. Winter Olympics in that order.
The IIHF World Championships themselves are in my opinion out of the question. I’ll bet you no one in their right mind would think the US has even the slightest possibility of making any more accomplishments, and some would say even a mediocre team could beat us. My opinion is, if our boys keep playing the way that they are, they won’t be able to play up to their potential, and beat a team that’s even half decent let alone the top tier teams where hockey has more popularity. I think the US has potential to do better internationally, and we’re getting some very good players. But our development would have to be picked up just a bit. No, we probably won’t match these other countries in terms of talent pool size, and depth, but we can do better, and come close.

The only bad thing about the IIHF team playing now is they got a bunch of scrubs on the team, guys who wouldn’t play on the Olympic team…Canada has the same, but their Scrubs are way better than our scrubs…and European teams actually care about the IIHF.

My guess is the World Juniors because the players actually care…

Olympics maybe?

Yes, there are many scouts on hand for tournaments like the Atlantic Challenge Cup in Moncton that runs around Thanksgiving.
