Youth hockey camps?

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

I have a son who is now 6 years old. He started skating at the age of 2. Does anyone know of any good hockey camps in the Northeastern Indiana area where he could go? He has been going to local camps, but I want to expand to other coaches who might teach him in other areas.

I think its a great idea to get different viewpoints and coaches it could give him an edge over different kids his age.

USA hockey has a magazine that lists a bunch of different camps across the US and Canada for all different ages levels varying a lot in cost and length.

that’s the link. I would skim through and read the descriptions and check out the links.(id like to limit the choices more but i cant be sure exactly what you re looking for)

Ice Hockey Camps Near Micigan? ?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

My son is 15 and playing High school Hockey. Are there any camps in the area including Canada,(preferably like the Jrobinson Hockey camps which are closed for the summer.) He looked at one in Minnesota but felt it was oriented more to the younger kids. .

Ask his coach.

HS coaches get fliers in all the time for various camps – some coaches post them on the bulletin board and others keep them until someone asks about them.

Ice hockey camps in Russia?

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

I’ve been playing hockey for a big portion of my life and have recently wondered about registering for camps outside of the US and Canada. I have always been interested in Russian culture and speak the language fluently and thought it would be pretty cool to go to a hockey camp in Russia. If anyone knows of one in Russia, please let me know

(:

Bandwagoner.

Hockey Prospect Camps?

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Where are some good prospect camps in Canada/Eastern USA to get scouted at?

Preferably female/goaltender hockey camps please!

I’ve heard of the Atlantic Prospects Camp in PEI
and also Hockey Night in Boston.

I had a freind who went to Atlantic Prospects so i would suggest that, according to her opinion, its really good.

what is a good summer hockey camp for beginners on the west coast?

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

hey everyone, i’m 16 and for the past couple years i’ve been desperately trying to get into hockey and its just impossible where i live, unless your on a high school team. which im not ready for. so i was just wondering if there were any skills camps i could go to on the west coast.

I am not sure where on the West coast you are, but here is a starting point. You can find a pro team near you (nhl or ahl) and see what kind of camps they offer. I posted a link for the LA Kings’ "Hockey 101 Clinics," and Jr. Camp. Most teams have things like this.

Or just start calling the local rinks, they usually have something there. Ask them when they have pick-up games. That’s what did. My high school didn’t have a hockey team, so I just went out and played pick-up games, sometimes with high school kids, sometimes with guys from a bar who needed extras. You will usually find someone who will help you out.
